Kendall Hurns is a Chicago-born creative director, entrepreneur and cultural strategist working across art, sports, fashion and design.
He began his career in sports and entertainment, spending nearly 15 years working alongside leading NBA athletes. Those years shaped his understanding of the relationships between talent, business and culture, and helped lay the foundation for his own creative ventures.
As founder and creative director of Arte Haus Studios, a creative agency and art collective, Kendall works with artists and brands to develop collaborations, tell stories and create art and creative experiences. Artist representation and curation remain central to that work, with a focus on helping talent reach new audiences and build lasting opportunities. He is also co-founder and creative director of SOAR, a basketball hoops and apparel company, and founder of Robotic Minds, a mindset company.
His work includes collaborations with McDonald’s, Kith, the NFL, the NBPA, Maker’s Mark and Amazon, to name a few, alongside ongoing art programming at Soho House Chicago.
Through Robotic Minds, Kendall developed a philosophy expressed in the phrase “Program your own mind or society will.” That belief continues to guide his work across ventures, encouraging independent thought and an awareness of how what we see, hear and experience shapes our perspective. It informs how he approaches a project, from the story being told and the artists involved to the environment created and the ideas people leave with.
Television color bars serve as a recurring signature in Kendall’s design language. They connect television programming to a broader idea: what we watch, hear and experience influences how we think. In his designs, products and creative experiences, the bars are a reminder to question what’s programming us and be intentional about the ideas we share.
What we create helps program how people see the world. Let’s use that influence to move culture forward.
